Background:

Ronald is an Advocate of the Courts of Judicature with over 16 years’ experience as a Practitioner. He holds a Master of Laws in Petroleum Law and Policy from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee (Scotland-UK) where he acquired specialized knowledge in energy and natural resources practice covering a number of areas; Mineral and Petroleum Taxation; Environmental Law and Policy for Extractive Natural Resource Industry; International and Comparative Petroleum Law and Policy; Downstream Energy Law and Policy; Structuring Mining Agreements; and International Project Finance and Petroleum Economics & Policy.

He currently advises both Mining and Oil companies on various issues including licensing; incorporation and registration; employment and related regulatory matters. Ronald has in-depth knowledge of Banking and Finance, Immigration and Labour relations upon which he has practiced considerably.

While at his previous law firm, Ronald supervised the Debt Collection & Recoveries’ Team responsible for secured and unsecured debt collection for commercial banks.

He has appeared in substantial actions before all the Courts of Judicature of Uganda.

He is a member of the Uganda Law Society, the East African Law Society, and The Association of International petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He has previously been the President of the AIPN (Dundee) chapter.
